Twitter came up with that one. I’m sure its intentions were good, but it has made an error of judgement in this case.
The circumstances were a tweet from qikipedia
Both Thomas Edison and Walt Disney started their careers as paperboys
I though this a pretty unremarkable factoid and so responded to it with
@qikipedia along with half the population?
I see I was by no means alone in this. Many others replied along similar lines.
A few minutes later, they pop out with another one -
Sean Connery’s career has included spells as a body-builder, milkman, coffin-polisher, nude model & Mr Universe
Admittedly a slightly more remarkable factoid. Nevertheless I thought it would be amusing to respond with the exact same
@qikipedia along with half the population?
But twitter wouldn’t let me and instead ‘took care of me’ and thereby spoiled everything. Boo!
